What Happens When Bank Pay customers Enroll in FrontDesk?

Updated by Kofi Boaten

If a customer was on Bank Pay in SimpleCity, their Bank Pay information is removed once that citizen becomes and Active Public User in FrontDesk. This means they will no longer be eligible for automatic withdrawal through the ACH file that you send to your bank.

A Public User is removed from Bank Pay if they are activated by the city, or if they are activated by going online and creating their own FrontDesk account. Below is an explanation of each scenario.

  1. If a citizen previously enrolled in UB ACH signs up for FrontDesk by creating an account and becoming an Active Login Pubic User, they are removed from Bank Pay as soon as their Public User Account is confirmed. This happens even if they do not enroll themselves in AutoPay. They will need to enter bank information and enroll in AutoPay if they want to continue automatic withdrawal.
  2. If you as the city enroll the citizen in AutoPay on their behalf, the citizen will only be removed from Bank Pay once you toggle AutoPay on and save a payment method. You can find documentation on how to "internally" enroll autopay users here.
