Forte's Validate+ Payment Validation

Updated by Kofi Boaten

Forte Validate+

Forte+ is a new enhancement being put in place that provides additional validation on ACH and eCheck payment methods. Validate+ performs instant pre-authorization searches, or checks, for verification of an EFT account number. This additional work may flag potential high-risk accounts. This includes accounts where the routing or account numbers are considered "high risk" or the account may have documented non-sufficient funds or chargebacks.

This results in less payment failures, which in turn saves you the burden of being stuck with the processing fees for a bad check. Forte Validate+ is also designed to meet the new NACHA rules and regulations around web debits via ACH payments made online. For more information, please visit Forte or contact them directly with any questions.

Potential Errors When Entering Payment Details

With Forte's move to Validate+, all payment methods will be run through this additional validation. As a result, if a user is changing their payment preferences for payments processed through FrontDesk, additional checks are being performed that were not previously done. If the payment method is found to be high risk, Forte will not accept it and a new payment method must be entered.

It is possible that you or your Public Users may encounter an error when adding banking information when setting up AutoPay due to this additional validation to help reduce the likelihood of accepting ACH or e-checking accounts that may be in bad standing.

In instances where you do run into this, the recommended best practice is to have the Public User update their payment preferences with a credit or debit card instead of ACH banking information.
